Lot Description

An 18th century silver pair cased key wind open faced pocket watch by J Glyd, white enamel dial, black Roman numeral hour markers with surrounding minute track, plain inner case has initial engraving to rear, inside it has hallmarks for London 1761, movement has square pillars, heavily decorated and pierced balance cock and decorated top plate signed "J Glyd Westminster", it has a verge escapement with a chain driven barrel and fusee. Outer case diameter 47mm.

J. Glyd silver pocket watch, key wind movement is currently functioning, cracking to the white enamel dial with chips at 6 o'clock and between 8 and 9 o'clock, tiny marks also to the dial and hands, glue residue around the edge of the glass, light scratching to the glass consistent with general use, scratching and tiny dints to the inner and outer cases from general use, hand engraving to the rear of the inner case, loose pendant, denting in particular to the outer case from general use.
