An alloy cased manual wind German observers watch by A. Lange & Sohne circa 1940s, the matt black dial having an inner hour track surrounded by an outer graduated seconds track with five minute markers, both with luminescent Arabic numerals, anti magnetic nickel silver alloy case, inner cover marked Beobachtungsuhr Bauart: Lange &.Sohne, case side marked with contract number Fl 23883, fitted with a signed frosted gilt 17 jewel calibre 48 with hack setting feature, movement number 212775. Case diameter 55mm. Watch A/F.

A. Lange & Sohne German observer's watch, manual wind movement is currently not functioning, tiny marks to the matt black dial and discolouration to the minute track and hour track with Arabic numeral markers, heavy discolouration and wear to the hands, scratching to the glass from general use, scratching, rubbing and small dints to the nickel silver alloy case consistent with general wear, some heavy dirtying of the case, some heavy wear to the brown leather strap.
