Lot Description

A Victorian 15ct gold garnet pendant and collar, circa 1880. Of foliate design, the circular garnet cabochon within a leaf surround suspended from an engraved rectangular link collar with fancy snake-link spacers. Tests as 15ct gold. Length of pendant 3cms. Length of collar 38.5cms. Weight 56.45gms.

The collar and pendant are in overall fair/poor condition. There are slight scratches and areas of discolouration to the pendant in keeping with overall wear, the garnet is in good condition. There are some indentations to the outer collet. Many of the snake links to the collar appear dented in places and discoloured, there is heavy discolouration to one of the rectangular links. The garnet to the clasp is in good condition, the claws may need to be secured, the clasp is secure. There are scratches and areas of light discolouration to many of the polished links.
