Lot 227

Lot Description

A 1920's silver napkin ring with vertical pierced decoration and beaded rim, hallmarked Birmingham 1922. Together with a further silver napkin ring, hallmarked Birmingham, date letter indistinct. Gross combined weight 1.4 ozt (45 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Both napkin rings display general wear, tarnishing and surface marks and scratches.  The example with vertical pierced decoration is very slightly misshapen and there is some loss of detail to the beaded rim.  Maker's mark and hallmarks are clear and legible.  The other napkin ring is also very slightly misshapen due to the fact that the seam line is clearly visible and splits have now appeared at the top and bottom.  There is also some loss of detail to the beaded rims.  Hallmarks are slightly rubbed but still legible, maker's marks completely distorted.
