Lot Description

Victorian silver thimble case of ovoid form, the body part fluted with central floral scroll panel and attached suspension chain, the detachable lid surmounted with a figure opening to reveal a lined interior. Hallmarked Samuel Walton Smith Birmingham 1863. Height measuring 52 mm.

The thimble case displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. A few small dints and bumps. The figurative surmount appears a little off centre. The material to the interior displaying some general wear. The hallmarks a a little distorted due to size and position . Passant mark visible to the lid.
