The vinaigrette displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing, there is some rubbing and loss of definition to the scroll edge. The gilt interior displays general discolouration, the interior base and underneath of the grille is quite dirty and displays some heavier scratches. The grille hinge is quite stiff and does not sit flush, rising in position. When the vinaigrette is completely closed it rises slightly to the left hand side. The hallmarks a little rubbed to the base but clearly legible.
