Lot 716

Lot Description

An early twentieth century silver mounted pin cushion modelled as a kangaroo holding a cricket bat incised Australia and a cricket ball between his feet. Hallmarked Adie & Lovekin Ltd Birmingham, date letter illegible possibly 1906. Height measuring 5 cm.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The pin cushion displays general light wear and surface marks and scratches and a little tarnishing in places.  There are a few minor nicks in the metal but generally the overall condition is good.  The cricket bat has a stippled matt finish and two small holes to the reverse and likely to have been added at a later date.  Considerable wear and deterioration to the material cushion.  Maker's mark is rubbed but still legible, date mark is very distorted.
