Lot Description

Six items of Maling (Newcastle-on-Tyne) pottery

Comprising: a 'Springtime' pattern two-handled dish, no. 6524, Victoria green ground, 30.5cm, (12") across handles; a 'May Bloom' pattern footed bowl, no. 6481, same ground, 27cm diameter x 7.5cm high, (9" x 3"); a small pair of 'Peony Rose' candlesticks, no. 6562, same ground, and a 'Springtime' ginger jar, no. 6525, pink ground, with non-matching cover, (6)

Ginger jar and cover - Surface crazing some marks to underside of base. Cover has a hairline crack. Bowl is crazed with hairline crack. Rectangular bowl has a tiny chip to its edge and is heavily crazed.

Candlesticks - appear to be intact with just surface crazing all pieces have losses to gilded detail
