Lot Description

A stainless steel manual wind military issue wrist watch by Omega, the black dial having hourly applied white Arabic numerals, outer minute track with luminous markers at five minute intervals, tonneau shaped case with screw down steel case back, engraved with British broad arrow and stamped 6645 101000 6B/542 9584/53 to the rear, fitted to an associated black leather strap with pin buckle, signed seventeen jewel movement, numbered 13057368, calibre 283. Case width 37mm.


"Omega has provided the British military with a number of sought after watches on the collector’s market and this 1953 RAF issue watch is no exception. This watch was issued for one year only, making it a rare and interesting piece. With Omega’s seventeen jewel calibre 283, combining shock setting and anti-magnetic protection, fitted in a stainless steel case with screw down back, it was a tough watch, well suited for its purpose."

Omega military issue wrist watch, manual wind movement is currently functioning, light pitting to the black dial, some leaking of the luminous paint to the hourly dot markers, tiny marks and discolouration to the hands, glass is scratched, case is heavily scratched, some bending to the crown, light creasing to the leather strap with pin buckle.
