Lot Description

A Victorian 18ct gold key wind open face pocket watch, the gilt dial with hourly applied Roman numerals, floral and foliate design to centre, ornately decorated round case, hallmarked London 1857, fitted with a full plate movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement. Case diameter 40mm. Total weight 49gms.

Open face pocket watch, key wind manual movement is currently functioning, dial shows marks and scratches, hands appear to be replacements, minute hand is distorted, both hands show tarnishing and marks, glass has no scratches visible to the naked eye, but shows marks and a small chip to the edge at 5 o'clock, case has marks and scratches as a result of general use, inner back cover shows visible scratches around the winding hole.
