Lot Description

A Regency mahogany-cased lancet-arch bracket clock with alarm by John Garmonsway, London, circa 1810. Having an 8" convex cream dial inscribed "John Garmonsway, LONDON", with pierced spade hands and an alarm hand, the wire-driven twin-fusee movement with shouldered plates having and engraved border and signed as above, the case with moulded decoration, convex-glazed brass bezel, lion mask ring handles, pull-repeat cord, and brass-traceried lancet side frets on brass ball feet, 19.25", (49cm) high

Dial - border crazing, some extending towards left hand winding arbour.

Movement - has two holes cutting into signature.

Case - some cracking and veneer splitting. Crack to back apex over door. Cracks to right side. Slight blistering to left side. One back leg slightly loose.
