Lot Description

A good Victorian gothic revival figured walnut chiming bracket clock. Anonymous, circa 1860-70. Having an 8" lancet-arched silvered Roman blackletter dial with pikestaff hands within foliage-engraved spandrels beneath subsidiary Slow/Fast dial, the chain-driven triple-fusee movement striking on a coiled gong and quarter-chiming on a carillon, the gong block stamped JD within an oval, the architectural case with spire finials over pentafoil arch and cluster columns on a breakfront base, with pull-repeat cord beneath, 29.5", (75cm) high.

Dial and movement both excellent.

Case has minor knocks below rear door, plus very light wear. Missing moulding to front corner as per main image. Has had a dedication plaque below door glazing. Overall very good.
