Lot Description

A late Victorian 18ct gold diamond snake ring. Designed as coiled snake with pear-shape diamond head and diamond point eye detail. Principal diamond estimated weight 0.30ct, J-K colour, SI clarity. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1879. Weight 6.4gms.

The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The band may have been skillfully repaired/resized. The diamond appears moderately bright with scattered dark inclusions, graded within the limitations of the mount. The diamond point eyes appear bright and well matched, estimated total diamond weight 0.32ct. Ring size K 1/2.
