Victorian silver set of four boat shape open salts.

Lot Description
Victorian silver set of four boat shape open salts, each with moulded rim, twin loop handles and bright cut engraved to both sides with pendant swag motifs surrounding a vacant shield, the whole on an oval footed base. Hallmarked Martin Hall & Co (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall), Sheffield 1876. Maximum length including handles measures 4 3/4 inches (12 cm), combined weight 9.64 ozt (300 grams).

Condition Report
Each salt displays general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. There is also some tarnishing, mainly to the interiors. Some deeper scratches in places and also some minor surface nicks and dints in the metal, dints mainly visible to the foot rims. One of the salts has a number of deeper more visible scratches to the underside. Hallmarks are partly distorted in places but mainly legible.
