Lot Description

A late 19th century cornelian fob seal. The rectangular-shape cornelian carved to depict a coat-of-arms to the ridged pedestal. Length 2.6cms.

Overall condition fair. There are scratches and areas of discolouration to the pedestal in keeping with the age of the piece, the fob has possibly been re gilded at a later date. The attached jump ring is not original. There is a chip to the edging of the carnelian and a surface reaching fracture. The carving is in good condition. There has been some possible repair to the one arm of the pedestal. Unhallmarked. Weight 12gms.
