Lot Description

An early 20th century diamond and enamel pendant. The oval-shape blue guilloche enamel panel with central old-cut diamond and rose-cut diamond border. AF. Principal diamond estimated weight 0.65ct, H-I colour, P1-P2 clarity. Length 4cms.

Total lot weight: No

The lot is in fair overall condition with light scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The principal diamond is slightly loose within its setting. The enamel has a large shallow chip at the edge, near the surmount. The edge of the chip shows a poor attempt at restoration with a near match in colour and colourless covering which overlaps the chip edge. The principal diamond was measured using a dial gauge and measures 5.47mms average diameter, by 3.72mms deep. The diamonds appear bright and well matched, the principal diamond with a large dark inclusion. Individual remaining diamonds too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades. The reverse shows a glazed panel with four soft solder repairs. The backing and original contents are missing. The diamonds are mounted in silver, with a gold back. Total weight 8.5gms.
