Lot Description

A 1940s synthetic ruby and paste dress ring. Of bi-colour design, the rectangular-shape synthetic ruby, within a ridged surround, to the circular-shape paste shoulders. Stamped 750. Weight 4.5gms.

Overall condition fair. Some surface wear and scratches. Ring has been previously re-sized and is significantly misshapen, with a partial hairline-crack to the band. Synthetic ruby pinkish red, good clarity. Fair to good condition with minor abrasion and nibbles, slightly loose in setting. With foreign marks, depicting mistletoe and a swan, possibly of Flemish origin.
