Lot Description

A late 19th century rosewood cylinder musical box. The hinged cover centred by inlaid blossom and a hovering butterfly, enclosing a movement numbered 52515, the 12" barrel and complete comb playing at least two ayres, with on/off switch and selection switch to the right side compartment, in working order but requiring renovation, 21" x 8" x 6" high, (53cm x 20cm x 15cm)

General marks to lid. Card detailing airs etc. beneath lid is missing. inner cover lacks glazing. Barrel shows some tarnishing but is otherwise sound. Mechanism is working but needs cleaning and fine tuning. Case has light wear (scuffs/rubbing) but is overall sound.
