Lot Description

A cultured pearl single-row necklace. Composed of 131 graduated cultured pearls, measuring 4.9 to 2.4mms, to the marquise-shape clasp. Stamped 9ct. Length 53cms.

Condition Report

Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches and tarnishing to the clasp in keeping with general wear. Clasp has possibly been previously repaired, with visible solder marks. Cultured pearls creamy colour with silvery blue and some rose overtones. Fairly good skins with some surface blemishes. Fairly good lustre. Pearls fairly well matched. String is discoloured near to the clasp. Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if these cultured pearls are from a fresh or saltwater source.
