Lot Description

A Victorian silver mounted pen wipe modelled as a shoe shine, hallmarked Deakin & Francis Ltd Birmingham 1897, length measuring 5 cm. Together with a Victorian silver mounted ink blotter with fluted decoration, hallmarked Adie & Lovekin Birmingham 1889, af, length measuring 3 1/2 inches (9cm). (2).

Both items are quite tarnished and display general wear and surface marks and scratches.  Pen wipe has various minor nicks, especially around the edges and the leather to the underside is quite worn and coming away from the mount.  There is also some deterioration to the brush sections.  Hallmarks are a little distorted but still legible.  The blotter also displays nicks and surface dints and the handle has broken off completely.  Hallmarks are legible.
