Lot Description

A William IV silver chamberstick of classic form, the circular tray with lobed edge and detachable cone shaped snuffer, both parts engraved with personal initials and crest. Hallmarked S. C. Younge & Co Sheffield 1831. Maximum height measuring 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm), weight 10.8 ozt (337 grams).

The chamberstick is in overall very good condition with general scratches, marks and wear. There is old polish visible to the recesses. A little creasing to the thumb piece. The engraved crest to the base of the chamberstick and the snuffer are in good condition. Hallmarks are visible and legible to all three parts, makers mark partially rubbed on the snuffer.
