Lot Description

Early twentieth century silver breakfast tea service, comprising teapot, twin handled sugar basin and cream jug, each of bulbous form and engraved with swag, garland and pendant motifs, reeded loop handles to the sugar and cream jug, ebonised handle and finial to teapot.  Hallmarked George Nathan & Ridley Hayes, teapot Birmingham 1911, cream and sugar Chester 1911. Teapot length measures 9 inches (23 cm), gross weight 15.39 ozt (478.6 grams).

All three pieces display general wear, some light tarnishing and light surface marks and scratches.  Some deeper scratches in places and some minor nicks/dints, especially around rims.  Contact marks and scratches to the underside of each.  Some slight loss of detail to engraving.  Some distortion to hallmarks, especially on the teapot, but mainly legible.
