Lot Description
Victorian silver basket of oval form, the pierced body interspaced with shell swags, scroll rim, swing handle and raised above four bun feet. Hallmarked William Hutton & Sons Ltd London 1897. Length measuring 12 1/2 inches (32 cm), width measuring 8 3/4 inches (22 cm), weight 12.7 ozt (396 grams).

Condition Report
The basket is quite tarnished all over. General wear and surface marks and scratches. Numerous deeper scratches visible to the interior base and also to the underside. There is considerable damage to one of the end sections as parts of the pieced decoration have broken. Hallmarks are legible, maker's mark partly distorted but still legible. Also part hallmarks to the handle.
