Lot Description

Late Victorian Scottish silver cased set of twelve silver gilt decorative teaspoons, each with a shell bowl, foliate detail to slim stem and leading to a lion's head terminal surmounted with a coronet.  Hallmarked John Crichton & Co., Edinburgh 1893.  Weight 5.63 ozt (175 grams).

Each spoon displays general wear, surface marks and scratches and some tarnishing to varying degrees.  Some deeper scratches in places and some minor edge/rim nicks.  Some wear to the gilding.  Hallmarks are mainly legible.  Fitted case is very damaged and is now in two parts.
