Lot Description

A pair of Victorian silver open salts of circular form with a floral border and vacant cartouche raised on three hoof feet, hallmarked London 1876/7. Together with a pair of Edwardian silver peppers of tapered form, hallmarked James Deakin & Sons Chester 1905 and an Edwardian silver shell open salt, hallmarked Robert Pringle & Sons Birmingham 1902. Gross silver weight 4.1 ozt (128 grams).

All items have general marks scratches, marks, tarnishing and wear. The pair of Victorian salts are heavily tarnished, appearing in poor condition with visible cracks and small holes, the hallmarks on the base are very rubbed with the markers mark to one being totally indistinct. The shell salt also heavily tarnished.
