Lot Description

A selection of silver and white metal items to include an Edwardian mother-of-pearl handled silver rattle, a 1930's footed glass bowl with silver mounted mirror lid, a small silver mounted brush, a silver mounted glass jar, a teapot-shaped tea infuser and a strainer. Rattle hallmarked Chester 1909. Length of rattle 3 7/8 inches (9.8cm).

The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The rattle has numerous dents and a small split to the body. There is possibly a bell missing though there is no obvious repair and no suspension loop. The makers mark is WA. The mother-of-pearl has significant wear. The silver mounted mirror lid for the table compact has some small dents to the handle and one to the rim. Hallmarked Harrison & Hipwood, Birmingham 1931. The moulded glass has small nicks and surface scratches. The teapot tea infuser is silver plate. The strainer is unhallmarked. Length 6 7/8 inches. Weight 2.86 ozt (83.35 grams.)
