Lot Description

An early 20th century seed pearl single-strand necklace. Comprising a graduated strand of 165 seed pearls, measuring 4.6 to 1.1mms, to the split pearl and blue enamel oval-shape clasp. Length 38cms.

The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The clasp measures 0.9cms. Pearls untested. The blue enamel has discolouration to the edges, with some surface pitting, scratches and small chips. Seven of the pearls are noticeably larger than the remaining, graduated pearls. The pearls range in body colour from a creamy white, through a lustrous yellow, with yellowy orange hues. Some of the pearls appear slightly grey. The pearls are mostly misshapen, off round or discoid. Clasp unhallmarked.
