Lot Description

A possibly George III gilt key wind pair case pocket watch, the white dial with black Roman numerals, outer minute track with Arabic divisions at five minute intervals, the cases, inner gilt, the outer case made of tortoise shell with painted hunting scene, fitted with a full plate fusee and chain movement with verge escapement, pierced balance cock, signed Edward Wheynard of London. Outer case diameter 49mm.

Pair case pocket watch, movement is not functioning and will require attention/repair to get back into working order, dial is scratched, cracked, discoloured and showing a noticeable large chip near the four o'clock point, hands are discoloured and showing wear, glass is missing, inner case has medium scratches from use, there is noticeable wear to the gilt, hinge is worn but functioning, pendant is very worn, bow is very loose, outer case is heavily worn with scratches visible, there are many of the small points missing around the edge of the outer case, there are very large chips and scratches to the back of the outer case.
