Lot Description

A 9ct gold keyless wind open face pocket watch signed J. W. Benson, the white enamel dial with hourly applied Roman numerals, bordered by a minute track, subsidiary seconds dial to six o'clock, round case hallmarked London 1917, milled band, engine turned decoration with vacant cartouche to the rear, fitted with a signed three quarter plate movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement. Case diameter 47mm. Total weight 77gms.

A pocket watch, movement is currently functioning, light tarnishing to movement, dial has tiny marks, residue visible around the edge of the subsidiary dial, hands are lightly scratched and discoloured, small chip to the edge of the hour hand, glass is scratched and discoloured, some of the scratches may polish out, deeper marks may remain, case has medium scratches and scuffs, signs of rubbing, dent on edge of case, areas of light pitting, discolouration around the base of the stem, would benefit from a clean, noticeable signs of rubbing to the crown.
