A lava cameo brooch, carved to depict a bacchante, with vine leaves, thyrsus and a bird, to the late 19th century silver gilt scrolling foliate engraved surround. Length 5.7cms.

The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The cameo is a later addition, the mount has small areas of white metal and small cracks and repairs.
