Lot Description

An early 20th century 9ct gold amethyst and split pearl pendant, the oval-shape amethyst, within a split pearl and imitation pearl curved hexagonal-shape surround with circular-shape amethyst accents, may be worn as a brooch. One purple paste replacement. Length 4.1cms. Weight 3.8gms.

Overall condition fair. There are scratches and areas of discolouration to the pendant. The amethysts vary in shade, some far paler in colour, there are a chips and abrasion to some. The split pearls are in fair condition, they have quite a dull lustre, with visible blemishes. Many split pearls have been replaced with imitation split pearls. One amethyst has been replaced with a purple paste, several amethyst appear to have been replaced. The back pin is metal and has been replaced. The suspender is possibly not original, however is a period piece.
