A mid Victorian gold shell cameo brooch, circa 1860, carved to depict a bacchante in profile, within a rope-twist and bead surround. Length 4.9cms. Weight 18.4gms.

The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The pin is a base metal replacement. The safety chain is possibly not original. The shell shows some fine cracks. The front of the shell is discoloured.
