Lot 16

Lot Description

A mid 20th century 9ct gold and platinum diamond and enamel military brooch. Designed as a rose-cut diamond cannon wheel, with blue enamel scrolls and a red enamel crown, to the plain bar. Length 5.1cms. Weight 4.8gms.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Overall condition good. Some surface wear and scratches in keeping with age. Enamel in fair condition with a number of nibbles where the metal surface is revealed. Diamonds fairly bright and well matched. Due to nature of the rose-cut it is not possible to calculate a total diamond weight. Based on the surface spread alone of the diamonds, they appear to occupy the same surface space as diamonds with an estimated total weight of 0.10ct, however this estimated weight does not reflect the true weight of the diamonds in any way. Individual size prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. Diamonds in good to fair condition with some abrasion and nibbles. Brooch stamped 9ct and PT. Surmount stamped 9ct.
