Lot Description

An early 20th century 18ct gold ruby and diamond dress ring. The graduated oval-shape rubies, with rose-cut diamond double spacers, to the tapered band. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1915. Weight 4gms.

Overall condition fair. There are scratches to the ring in keeping with overall wear. There is abrasion to the facet edges of a couple of the rubies, there is quite a significant chip to the centre stone. There are easily visible inclusions to all rubies visible with the unaided eye. There are several chips to the diamond. Some of the settings appear substantially worn and would need to be secured. The inner hallmark is worn and just legible.
