Lot Description

A mid 20th century French 18ct gold enamel pansy brooch. Designed as three cultured pearl and blue enamel detachable pansies, to the curved stems gathered by a blue enamel ribbon. French assay marks. Length 7.1cms. Weight 24gms.

The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The clasps all have French assay marks, makers mark PP with columns inbetween, within a diamond-shape lozenge. The pansies are graduated and unscrew to the back. Some of the clasps and pins are slightly bent. The enamel is graduated to the edges and has significant cracks (with no losses) to one of the petals of the smallest pansy. One of the cultured pearls has noticeable orange peel effect.
