Lot Description

A late Victorian  silver candlestick modelled as a Corinthian classical column, hallmarked Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd London 1900, height measuring 6 inches (15 cm), filled. Together with a 1930's christening mug of plain tapering form with personal initial and date engraving, hallmarked Wilmot Manufacturing Co Birmingham 1939, height measuring 3 1/8 inches (8 cm), weight 3 ozt (97 grams). Both items display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The candlestick displays numerous small dints and bumps, a couple of minor splits to the surface of the silver, heavy residues of polish to the recesses, the hallmarks to the base are rubbed. The mug appears heavily tarnished and would benefit from a clean and polish, maker's mark worn.
