Lot Description

Early twentieth century silver matched three piece tea service, each of oval form with lobed lower body, reeded rim and angular handles, teapot with ebonised handle and finial and conforming lobed decoration to domed lid and to lower section of spout.  Hallmarked Atkin Brothers, Sheffield 1916, 1919 and 1920.  Maximum teapot length measures 10 1/2 inches (26.5 cm), gross combined weight 27.43 ozt (853.3 grams).

Total lot weight: No

All three pieces display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  However the overall condition appears to be fairly good, with some deeper scratches visible to some areas and various minor nicks.  Some splits in the ebonised finial on the teapot.  Hinged lid in good working order.  The hallmarks are mainly clear and legible, just the date letter on the teapot is quite rubbed.  Lid also bears the standard mark.
