Lot Description

1940's silver coffee pot of tapering straight sided form with straight spout and a fruitwood scrolled handle and finial to the domed lid;  together with a bulbous shape cream jug and a circular sugar bowl, each raised above a spreading circular foot.  All hallmarked Adie Brothers Ltd., Birmingham 1948.  Height of coffee pot including finial measures 7 1/2 inches (19 cm), gross combined weight 20.38 ozt (634 grams).

All three pieces are quite heavily tarnished all over and display general wear and surface marks and scratches.  Deeper scratches visible to some areas and various minor nicks in the metal.  A small number of surface dints are visible, one to main body of the sugar bowl and some smaller ones around the lower body of the cream jug.  The cream jug also has a large dint to one side of the foot rim and the main rim is very slightly misshapen.  Smaller knocks to the foot rim of the coffee pot and sugar bowl.  Hinges to coffee pot lid are in good working order.  All hallmarks are clear and legible, date letter on the lid of coffee pot is very slightly distorted.
