Lot 662

Lot Description

Victorian Scottish silver wine label modelled as the initial 'S' and decorated with foliate scrolls to the front, hallmarked to the reverse with Duty mark and thistle mark only, also with maker's mark for James & William Marshall, Edinburgh;  together with a silver plated example modelled as the initial 'B', decorated with flowers and foliage. (2).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Both labels are quite heavily tarnished all over and display general wear and surface marks and scratches.  The suspension chain and loops on the 'S' are not silver and chains to both are probably replacement.  Hallmarks to reverse of 'S' are clear and legible.
