Lot 666

Lot Description

Victorian silver caddy spoon with a spade shape bowl stipple engraved with foliate patterns and a moulded stem leading to a terminal with plumage motifs.  Hallmarked George Unite & Sons, Birmingham 1854. Length measures 3 1/2 inches (9 cm), weight 7.5 grams.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The spoon is quite tarnished and displays general wear and surface marks and scratches in keeping with the age and use.  The metal of the spade bowl now appears quite thin, there are some rim nicks and a small split in the metal near to the join of the handle, on one side.  Some slight loss of detail to decoration but it is still generally okay.  Hallmarks to the reverse of the bowl are slightly distorted in some areas but still legible.
