Lot Description

Edwardian silver vesta case of oblong form and foliate scroll engraving, hallmarked William Hair Haseler Birmingham 1903, with attached silver  Albert chain and swivel fob. Together with two 1920’s silver thimbles, a further thimble and a Victorian silver nurses buckle hallmarked Levi & Salaman Birmingham 1897. Gross weight 4.9 ozt (154 grams).

The lot displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The vesta case appears concave to the vacant cartouche and may have had an engraving removed. The stones to the swivel fob appear heavily pitted. The third thimble is marked Pat 5, the other two are hallmarked Chester 1923 and Birmingham 1926. The hallmarks vary in condition but generally legible.
