Lot Description

A George III Irish silver cream jug, of lobed oval form, with scrolling foliate and geometric wriggle work, to the broad spout and angular handle, crested. Hallmarked Dublin 1806, maker's mark for ?B. Maximum height 4 1/8 inches (10.5cm). Weight 5.07 ozt (157.8 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear commensurate with the age and use. The hallmarks are worn, especially the first half of the makers mark. The decoration is worn, the crest to either side is very worn, possibly a raised arm holding something. There is a slight split near the handle along a join. Numerous light surface scratches and significant discolouration.
