Lot Description

Late Victorian silver salver of circular form, engraved foliate scrolls to the centre within an everted border with oblique gadrooning to the rim, the whole raised above three rounded feet.  Hallmarked James Deakin & Sons (John & William F Deakin), Sheffield 1900.  Diameter measures 12 1/8 inches (31 cm), weight 23.59 ozt (733.9 grams).

The salver displays general surface wear, some tarnishing and general surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.  Some deeper scratches visible to some areas, especially to the centre and around the decoration, and also to the underside.  Various minor nicks/dints in the metal and there is a larger dint visible to curved part on one side of the border.  Hallmarks are clear and legible, also part hallmarks to feet.
