Lot Description

Edwardian silver oil lamp base in Neo Classical style, the plain urn shape body applied with three palmette style motifs, each leading to a splayed support terminating in a hairy paw foot and standing on a filled triform base. Hallmarked Mappin & Webb Ltd., Sheffield 1907. Maximum height measures 11 inches (28 cm).

Condition Report

The lamp base displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing is visible and it would benefit from a clean and polish. Maker's mark is a little worn, but otherwise hallmarks are clear and legible.
