Lot Description

A Victorian 18ct gold keyless wind pocket watch, the white enamel dial with hourly applied Roman numerals, bordered by a minute track, round ornately engraved case, hallmarked Chester 1889, engraved cartouche to the rear, fitted with a three quarter plate movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement. Case diameter 40mm. Total weight 59gms.

An 18ct gold pocket watch, keyless wind movement is currently not functioning, unable to wind movement which indicates a deeper problem with the movement, dial is cracked to twelve o'clock towards the centre, dial has some dark marks and scratches, minute hand appears discoloured and possibly a replacement, glass does not seem to be chipped but it has superficial scuffs to the whole surface as a result of general wear, case shows light scratches and shallow dents in places, the dust cover and inner side of the case is slightly bent in few places, bow and pendant are scratched.
