Lot Description
Two late 19th century gold brooches, the first designed as an oval garnet cabochon, with central old-cut diamond accent, to the intertwined border, the second designed as a rectangular-shape orange paste, within a blue guilloche enamel and scrolling surround. One AF. Lengths 3.4 and 1.8cms. Weight 15gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair. The back pin is missing off the larger orange paste brooch and the hinge and catch have been replaced with extra back panels, there are dents and scratches to the back. There are scratches and chips to the blue enamel. There are some small chips and areas of abrasion to the orange paste. There are some splits to the scrolling surround. The collet surrounding the garnet is damaged and split in several places. There is visible glue residue to the base of the garnet visible through the garnet where the piece has been secured. The setting to the diamond may need to be secured. There is wear and discolouration to the outer surround. The back pin is metal and has been replaced.
