Signed lower right
5.5" x 8.5", (14cm x 22.5cm)
In rectangular green plush mount and swept gilt frame
Provenance:
Painted by Oliver Clare for F. W. Barker of F. Smith & Wilson auctioneers, Birmingham.
Barker was the grandfather of the current owner and received this work in lieu of a debt of rent.
Upon his death in 1938 this painting passed to his wife, to their son in 1958, and to his daughter, the current owner, thereafter.

Good order - probable sympathetic cleaning some years ago. Mount and gilt frame are later. Provenance given verbally and in writing and is assumed to be genuine - but potential purchasers should satisfy themselves before bidding.
