Lot Description

William Marshall (1885 - ?). A watercolour study of a stained glass window depicting the Madonna and Child with Saints Catherine and Margaret, pencil and watercolour, signed in pencil lower right, typewritten biography verso indicates 'Marshall William, stained glass artist; visiting art teacher Birmingham; formerly head artist at Messrs. Pearce & Cutler Ltd., Birmingham and Headmaster of Birchfields School of Art. Born: Smethwick 26th March 1885, son of W Marshall, leaded light maker...Exhibited Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, New Street, Birmingham and Royal Academy 1929-1930-1931", 10" x 7.25" (25cm x 18.5cm), in gilt frame under glass
