Lot Description

An early twentieth century continental cigarette case, stamped sterling 935, of plain form with gilt interior and concealed inner cover enamelled with two female nudes on a lakeside playing cards, one seated and one standing wearing a full length coat with fur trim. Stamped Sterling 935, CSG&Co. Height measuring 3 1/2 inches (9 cm), weight 6 ozt (188 grams).

The cigarette case appears in good overall condition displaying light general scratches and marks. Noticeable tarnishing. A number of dents visible to the outer case. The gilding appears discoloured but far brighter to the concealed area. The enamel appears in excellent condition. One of the elastic straps to the interior has broken. The continental marks are clear and legible. No visible personal engravings.
