Lot Description

A Victorian inlaid walnut jewellery box. The hinged cover of flat-topped domed form enclosing a compartmentalised tray, the cover and front both inlaid with specimen wood geometric marquetry framing kingwood crossbanding, brass cartouche and escutcheon both with multiple inlaid borders, 10" x 7" x 5.75" high, (25.5cm x 18cm x 14.5cm), together with a 19th century mahogany sarcophagus tea caddy, (2).

1. A few small dints, cracks and flecks of dirt commensurate with age, but generally sound. The interior is a little dog-eared (eg paper lining torn/deficient).
2. Ring missing to surmount. water staining which should wax/polish out. Minor corners losses and a few tight cracks.
Escutcheon missing, handles to internal covers missing.
